The automated window/exterior door schedule.

This process is very robust and simple, but it's not magic. If the windows are modeled/ID'd/set up correctly, they should list correctly. You can put the info in model, or in the speadsheet. Guess which I think is better?

This howto is for windows and exterior doors. The interior door schedule is very similar. At the end you'll find the Excel formatting for the doors.

In Archicad:
Make sure all the windows and doors you want to list have IDs. Make sure the single-digit door IDs start with zero.
Calculate Menu | List Elements | W Sched(JAM8.lis) OR Navigator: Project Map : Lists : W Sched(JAM8.lis)
Save As: Tabbed Text (format): Window Table PROJ.txt. Select the 'All Columns' option.

In the Finder, double-click this file to open it Excel. (File | Open from Excel is not recommended.)

In Excel:
Format the table as follows:
Insert a column to the left of A.
All Cells: vertical alignment center.
All Cells: Font Times 9
Center Justify: Columns B,C,D,I,J,M,N,O,P
Bold: Column C
All Rows: Height 18.00

'Copy' column A through the last column for all the window rows. That is a rectangular selection from A of first window through LastColumn of last window. Don't copy whole rows, they won't paste right.

Open the Schedule Template. Make sure you have enough rows for all the windows. Select the 'A' cell of the first window row (probably #11).
Edit | Paste Special
Select 'All except borders' OK.

Back in the table, copy the door rows, then paste special as above.

Make sure all the columns are wide enough for the info in them.

Change the color of the lines that will be bolded in PM. These are the table and heading outlines. Use 'Red'. This is done in Format Cells, Border Tab. Select the cells to outline before going to this box.

If placing in a PM layout:
Select all the used cells.
Hold down shift and go to Edit | Copy Picture.
Select 'As Shown on Screen'

In PlotMaker:
Open the right layout for the schedule.
File | New | Drawing.
Paste.
Select all the lines except the red ones. Change the pen to 13.
Select the red lines. Change the pen to 1.
Place 2 hotspots slightly off of opposite corners. This keeps the frame from cutting the border lines in half.
Save & Close.
Fit Frame to Drawing, and position the frame.

PS:
