Demo & New Openings in Additions

Place layout lines where you plan to split the wall.

Split the wall on both sides of the opening. Drag a copy of the opening's wall segment.

Change the copy's layer to .N. Change the poche to gray. In the original, change the opening's linetype to dashed...

...and the layer to .D. This will make the wall segment disappear.

Move the copy back.

New openings in existing walls need similar treatment. Split the wall on either side of the opening-to-be. Drag a copy as above. Change the copy's background color to gray, and it's layer to .N. Place the opening in the new segment. Stretch the walls as necessary to accommodate the opening. Change the original's linetype to dense dashed, then change the layer to .D. Move the new segment back into place.
